The procedure is called root canal therapy because it involves removing the diseased pulp and nerves that are located within a tooth’s root canal, which is cleaned, medicated, and sealed. A dental crown is used to protect and strengthen the tooth, returning it to its full form and function.

Symptoms You May Need Root Canal Therapy

You may notice gum or tooth pain, swelling, tooth discoloration, tenderness, or sensitivity to heat or cold. A bump or a pimple on your gum may indicate the presence of an abscess.

Caring for Your Treated Tooth

You will need to care for your tooth after root canal therapy just as you would for your natural teeth. Brush twice a day, floss daily, and rinse using an antibacterial mouthwash to keep your mouth clean and to prevent cavities. Make sure to schedule your routine checkups and cleanings as recommended so that we keep an eye on your treated tooth along with ensuring that your oral health stays in tip-top shape.
